Key Responsibilities of the Travel Nurse
- Provide safe, compassionate care during all stages of labor and delivery
- Monitor maternal and fetal health, interpreting vital signs and responding to complications
- Administer medications and manage pain relief methods as needed
- Support patients and their families through labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery
- Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthetists, pediatricians, and nursing staff to ensure optimal outcomes
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with hospital policies
- Respond quickly to obstetric emergencies
- Educate patients on postnatal care and breastfeeding support
Requirements of the Travel Nurse
- Active New Mexico Registered Nurse (RN) license or valid Compact license
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum of 2 years' recent experience in a Labor and Delivery setting
