The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe, effective patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit. The RN promotes personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. The RN assesses, develops, implements, and evaluates the plan of care using the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care. The RN focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care and in mentoring/precepting staff. The RN performs assessments and reassessments per policy or as warranted by patient condition. The RN demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. The RN initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care. The RN collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services. The RN utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization, patient, and family. The RN monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions.
