Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (L&D)
Location: Pella, IA
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift | 12-hour shifts, 3 days/week
Pay Rate: $2,100 – $2,300 per week
Experience Required: Minimum 2 Years
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week contract assignment in Pella, IA. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to mothers during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period while ensuring the safety and well-being of both mother and newborn.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum
- Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs throughout labor
- Assist physicians and midwives during deliveries and obstetric procedures
- Administer medications, IVs, and epidurals as prescribed
- Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, newborn care, and recovery
- Recognize and respond to obstetric emergencies (e.g., fetal distress, hemorrhage)
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EMR systems
- Collaborate with OB team members, including physicians, anesthesiologists, and neonatal staff
- Ensure compliance with patient safety and infection control protocols
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa (or compact state)
- Minimum 2 years of recent L&D experience
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- ACLS and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications required/preferred per facility
- Strong knowledge of labor and delivery procedures and fetal monitoring
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
- Prior travel or contract experience
- Experience with high-risk pregnancies and emergency deliveries
- Familiarity with EMR systems
