Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care across multiple ICUs, adjusting to different unit protocols, patient conditions, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients with acute and life-threatening conditions.
- Monitor and interpret patients' vital signs, lab results, and other diagnostic data to identify and respond to changes in patient status.
- Administer medications, blood products, and specialized treatments as prescribed, adhering to safety standards and hospital protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and modify individualized care plans.
- Utilize advanced critical thinking skills to handle rapidly changing situations and implement appropriate interventions.
- Educate patients and their families regarding treatments, procedures, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Document all aspects of patient care accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contribute to evidence-based practices, and support the training and mentoring of new staff.
Requirements:
• Active RN license in Virgina (or compact license)
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience
• BLS, ACLS certifications required
• Strong critical thinking, multitasking, and communication skills
