Shift Type: Nights (schedule determined by unit director), 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 12-hour night shifts; nights, weekends & holidays as needed

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Provide expert bedside ICU care for critically ill adults, including ventilator management and respiratory support
  • Interpret telemetry and cardiac rhythms and titrate vasoactive drips safely per unit protocols
  • Manage arterial lines, CVP monitoring, and complex infusion therapies
  • Perform rapid assessments and interventions for diagnoses such as DKA, sepsis, respiratory failure and cardiac instability
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (RT, ED, MS) to coordinate safe transfers and patient care
  • Document care accurately in Meditech and communicate clear handoffs during shift changes
  • Coach and support patients and families through high-acuity care with compassion and professionalism
Qualifications
  • Active RN license eligible for practice in North Dakota
  • Minimum 1 year of ICU (or relevant high-acuity) nursing experience
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS (TNCC or TCAR or documented trauma care experience also required)
  • Experience with ventilators, telemetry interpretation, and titration of ICU drips
  • Comfortable working without unit patient care tech support and able to prioritize independently
  • Fit testing requirement: must pass facility fit test (no facial hair that prevents passing or ability to remove facial hair for testing)
Education
  • Active RN license (state of practice)
  • BSN preferred but not required
Knowledge & Skills
  • Ventilator management and troubleshooting from nasal cannula to full ventilator support
  • Telemetry interpretation and cardiac rhythm recognition and management
  • IV drip titration and familiarity with common ICU vasoactive medications
  • Arterial line and CVP care and monitoring
  • Trauma patient care principles or TNCC/TCAR experience
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and coachability in a small-unit ICU environment
  • Meditech charting experience
