Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Intensive Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Good EKG reading skills - Experience with IABP and Prismaflex CRRT preferred - Ability to wean and troubleshoot ventilators Description: Prescreen and auto offer as long as requested time off is less than 7 days and does not include holiday requests. Clinicians must take and pass a dysrhythmia exam within two attempts prior to signing the contract. Nurses must score 80% or higher in two attempts; otherwise, they will be denied for 6 months. Candidates must be within a 50-mile radius and must not hold any full-time, part-time, or PRN roles with any associated facilities in the past year. Nurse-patient ratios are 1:1-2 in the ICU based on acuity and staffing; in PCU, ratios are 1:3-4. Required experience includes common diagnoses such as COVID, low-level neuro issues, EVD, DKA, sepsis, acute renal failure, chest tubes, and various surgical cases. Nurses may be required to titrate critical care drips, including pressors, paralytics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics. Charge nurses will only take assignments as a last resort. House supervisors are available 24/7, with some exceptions. Respiratory therapists cover all areas but are not in the ICU 24/7; nurses should be able to troubleshoot and help wean ventilators. Nurses must read their own telemetry strips and monitor the Nihon Khoden tele monitors. Schedules are created 4 weeks in advance, with some self-scheduling, but final approval rests with the management. Weekend requirements include 4 weekend shifts per pay period, and holiday coverage is expected for one holiday and the eve of another holiday. Travelers may be placed on call if census is low, approximately once every six weeks. Floating requirements include potential rotation to other units as needed. Scrub color is any professional color, with no camouflage allowed. Unit-specific orientation consists of general hospital orientation and practical on-the-unit experiences with preceptors. Cancellation policy: 4 shifts per contract; 3 shifts if the contract is under 13 weeks. Charting system used is Cerner. BSN not required. Trauma level: Not specified. Care setting: Acute.
