The unit has a total of 12 beds with a patient ratio of 1:2. There are unit secretaries and techs available for support. The equipment used includes Baxter pumps. The documentation system in place is Cerner. Scheduling is self-scheduled based on unit needs, with a requirement for 6 weekend shifts per period. Travelers may be required to float to other ICUs or to step-down units. Neurology experienced ICU nurses are preferred for this role. Advanced skills are needed in caring for neurology patients following thrombectomy and TPA treatment. The unit requires knowledge of procedures performed, including CRRT, bedside EVDs, and A-line monitoring. Dress code requires navy blue uniforms.
