Job Title: RN - ICU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in Adult ICU License: Active Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Epic experience Management of external ventricular drains (EVD) Intracranial pressure monitoring Ventilator management Management of vasoactive drips Tracheostomy care Central line maintenance Post-monitoring for TNK and IR Description: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled RN for our ICU. The facility is a Level 1 Trauma center with a comprehensive care environment. The ICU is equipped with 29 beds and averages 29 patients per day. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in an Adult ICU. First-time travelers are accepted if they have completed at least one 13-week assignment. Patient types include neuro ICU cases, such as ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, traumatic brain injuries, and post-operative craniotomies. The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:2, with occasional situations where patients may be tripled. There may be off-service trauma or medical ICU patients depending on the census. CNA staffing is not consistently available on this unit. The role requires proficiency in Epic and management of various critical care scenarios. The unit team includes supervising staff, stroke response nurses, a clinical educator, and free-floating charge nurses. Supportive services such as respiratory therapy and pharmacy are available 24/7. Physical, occupational, and speech therapy are on-site seven days a week. Floating to adult critical care units may occur as needed. Weekend rotation is required every other week. Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays. Schedule cycles are organized every 6 weeks. The unit culture prioritizes teamwork and retention.
