Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts with rotating start times between 6:30 AM and 9:00 AM. Day and evening shifts available. No on-call requirement. Flexibility may be needed to stay past scheduled shift to complete patient care.
Highlights:
- Provide direct patient care during GI and pulmonary procedures including ERCP, EUS, EGD, Colonoscopy, Endoscopy, and Bronchoscopy
- Administer and monitor moderate sedation; manage pre- and post-procedure care including PACU Phase I and Phase II recovery
- Work within a Level 1 Trauma Center or equivalent academic medical environment with Epic EMR
- Daily census of 20-25 patients across 4 procedure rooms
- 32-hour orientation program with comprehensive onboarding support
- Care for adult and geriatric patient populations in a Magnet-designated teaching facility
Requirements:
- Active Wisconsin RN license or compact state license (must be in hand prior to submission)
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care RN experience in endoscopy or GI/pulmonary procedures within the last 3 years
- Level 1 Trauma Center or similar academic hospital experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Current ACLS and BLS (AHA) certifications required
- Must pass telemetry competency exam prior to start (strict passing criteria apply)
- Recent experience recovering sedated patients post-procedure, including those who received general anesthesia
- Proficiency in airway management, IV insertion and maintenance, EKG interpretation, and dysrhythmia management
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
