Roles & Responsibilities- Provide high-quality emergency nursing care: triage patients, manage trauma cases, and deliver stroke interventions when minutes matter
- Operate and monitor cardiac equipment and infusion devices (Baxter pumps, GE monitors) to keep patients safe and stable
- Document timely and accurate patient care using Cerner EHR to maintain continuity and compliance
- Coach, mentor, and provide real-time feedback to colleagues to strengthen team performance and patient outcomes
- Communicate with compassion using AIDET and keep patients and families informed and respected throughout their visit
- Support unit staffing needs, collaborate with techs and clerks, and adapt to a high-volume ED environment
- Current Registered Nurse license (state-specific or compact where applicable)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year in an Emergency Department
- Experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (>100,000 visits) preferred
- Required certifications before start: ACLS and BLS; PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS required/on hire; ENPC within 90 days
- Strong teamwork mindset and ability to coach and deliver feedback in real time
- Willingness to float within all sections of the ED and meet scheduling needs (every other weekend)
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) and active RN licensure
- Emergency triage and rapid assessment skills
- Trauma and stroke recognition/management
- Proficiency with Cerner EHR for documentation and orders
- Comfort with cardiac monitoring and infusion pump management (Baxter, GE)
- Excellent communication, cultural sensitivity, and patient experience practices (AIDET)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with flexible problem-solving
