Job Title: ED RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7p-7a Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Travel experience required, critical care and charge experience preferred License: Current NYS RN license required Certifications: BLS and ACLS required, PALS required or obtained within 6 months of hire/transfer Must-Have: MEDITECH experience required Description: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Must have the ability to identify and intervene in life-threatening situations. Possesses thorough knowledge of nursing principles. Ability to provide quality patient care and assess patient's needs, including clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual. Must recognize safety issues to self and others and assess and implement the use of lifts to move patients safely. Must be able to function well in stressful situations and have strong problem-solving skills. Strong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate are required. May be required to assume duties as a charge nurse. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills are required. Must successfully complete the lethal dysrhythmia exam during probation and be defibrillation certified within six months of employment. Must be IV, medication, and phlebotomy certified.
