Job Title: Emergency Department Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 Year Required License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, CPI Must-Have: Minimum of 5 years of recent Emergency Department experience in a high-acuity setting. Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications. Strong triage and critical thinking skills. Experience in trauma and cardiac alert care, including STEMI, stroke, and sepsis patients. Description: The Emergency Department has 22 beds and a staff of 55. The team includes day and night shift charges, RNs, and ER techs. Patient ratios are 4:1. Documentation is completed using the Meditech system. Typical procedures performed include IV insertion, medication administration, EKGs, splinting, and wound care. Moderate sedation for procedures such as reductions or cardioversion is also performed. Assistance with intubation, CPR, rapid sequence intubation, and code response is required. Care provided includes stroke, STEMI, sepsis, trauma, and behavioral health patients. Transport preparation and coordination for higher levels of care are essential. Triage assessment and prioritization are based on ESI guidelines. Isolation and infection control protocols must be adhered to. Documentation and reassessment occur in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is team-oriented with a strong work ethic and accountability. Punctuality, reliability, compassion, and excellent patient-centered care are vital. Flexibility and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment are necessary. Two weekends per schedule are required. No on-call shifts are needed.
