We are seeking an experienced Dialysis Chronic Care Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD). In this role, you will deliver safe and effective hemodialysis treatments while working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary care team focused on clinical excellence and patient outcomes.
This position is ideal for RNs with chronic dialysis experience who value meaningful patient relationships, consistency, and professional growth within nephrology nursing. Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive pre-, intra-, and post-dialysis assessments
- Deliver safe and effective hemodialysis treatments
- Monitor patient response and adjust treatment plans as appropriate
- Administer medications per physician orders and approved clinical protocols
- Educate patients and families on dialysis care, treatment plans, and lifestyle considerations
- Collaborate with nephrologists, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary team members
- Delegate tasks appropriately to Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), LPNs/LVNs, and nursing staff
- Respond to emergency situations when required
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation
- Ensure proper laboratory collection, processing, and follow-up
- Participate in staff training, orientation, and quality improvement initiatives
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Active RN license in the state of practice
- Current CPR / BLS certification
- At least 1 year of nephrology nursing experience within the past 2 years
- Chronic hemodialysis experience required
- Ability to meet all state nursing practice requirements
- Shifts will be discussed in detail during the interview process
- The role requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, with overtime and floating to area sites as needed
- Floating is required to locations within 50 miles of the primary site
- There is a minimum guarantee of 36 hours per week
- Schedule requests or restrictions
- Refusal to float to required sites
- Late arrival to a scheduled shift
- Leaving a shift early
- Calling out of a scheduled shift
- Planned or unplanned time off
- Hands-on patient care requires standing, bending, lifting, and assisting with patient mobility
