Travel Nurse RN - Correctional - $55 to $60 per hour in Mercer, PA

Duration: 1 year to long term
Shift: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM

Job Description:

• Perform duties as a Charge Nurse, Staff Nurse, or Assessment Coordinator providing nursing care and treatment services in a Commonwealth facility.
• Deliver nursing care to individuals with mental illness, physical injury or illness, developmental disabilities, and/or dysfunctional behavior.
• As Charge Nurse, direct and coordinate nursing care delivery for assigned units, wards, or living areas, primarily on evening or night shifts.
• Assess staffing needs and make decisions regarding staff utilization, supplies, and equipment.
• Supervise paraprofessional and non-professional nursing staff to ensure quality patient care.
• Ensure coordination and coverage of nursing services and maintain accurate clinical records.
• As Assessment Coordinator, develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care and treatment plans.
• Coordinate nursing care with interdisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with residents and families.
• Complete all required documentation in compliance with federal and state regulations.
• As Staff Nurse, provide direct professional nursing care and support specialty nursing functions such as infection control, quality improvement, or risk management, as assigned.
• Exercise independent clinical judgment in the application of professional nursing practices.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician or licensed practitioner orders and nursing standards.
• Perform comprehensive assessments, including full body assessments and mental health status evaluations, and participate in development of the Plan of Care.
