Job Title: Cath Lab Manager Profession: Manager Specialty: Cath Lab Duration: 13 months Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in cardiac catheterization laboratory, 10 years of experience in clinical cardiology License: NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License Certifications: AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification, AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification Must-Have: Critical care experience, clinical cardiology, interventional radiology, or perioperative experience for at least 3 years Description: The Cath Lab Manager is a designated leader accountable for the effective and efficient running of the Cath Lab. This position assumes responsibility for efficiency, including patient throughput, staff performance, and components affecting Cath Lab flow and capacity. The Cath Lab Manager is responsible for utilization, first case starts, room turnover, patient safety, policy and procedure adherence, quality and performance improvement measures, and risk management. Essential Job Functions: Develops schedules and daily team member assignments and responsibilities. Collaborates with the Cath Supervisor and Lead Tech in daily operations. Supervises efficient patient flow from recovery and procedural areas. Identifies shift problems; investigates and responds appropriately to all situations. Develops and maintains processes to support Cath Lab utilization. Improves the efficiency of procedural processes and patient flow. Monitors Standards of Practice to ensure compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies. Ensures adherence to legal requirements related to risk management and patient rights. Creates and monitors unit-based indicators, integrating standards development, continuing education, credentialing, and performance appraisal. Executes outcomes-based practice and directs staff in its application. Skills: Demonstrated leadership skills. Moderate computer skills. Working Conditions: Lifts a minimum of 5 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 10 lbs., and stands a minimum of 4 hours a day. Knowledge of team management practices. Knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and techniques. Knowledge of supervisory practices and principles. Knowledge of state and agency laws and regulations governing professional nursing practices. Skill in both verbal and written communication. Skill in maintaining effective working relationships.
