Schedule: 12-hour shifts with every other weekend rotation; nurse-to-patient ratio typically 1:2 in a 10-bed unit with average daily census of 7
Highlights:
- Specialized cardiovascular ICU caring for complex patients including LVADs, intra-aortic balloon pumps, Swan-Ganz catheters, temporary pacemakers, and CRRT
- Collaborative care environment with intensivist presence Monday–Friday and daily multidisciplinary rounds at 10 am
- Manageable patient load with free charge nurse support; titration of cardiac drips, vasoactive medications, and sedation
- Experience with post-AAA repair patients, advanced hemodynamic monitoring, and critical cardiovascular interventions
- Epic EMR system with Pyxis medication management and SBAR communication protocols
- Contract includes comprehensive orientation with non-billable hours based on assignment length
Requirements:
- Current Georgia or Compact RN license (must be in hand prior to submission)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience; first-time travelers accepted
- Experience with 1:2 patient ratios in critical care settings
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Two supervisory references (Manager level or above) highly preferred
- Full compliance required by the Tuesday prior to start date to ensure on-time orientation
- Availability to work major holidays as scheduled (policy applies based on number of holidays during assignment period)
