Job Title: CVICU RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Duration: 11 Weeks Shift: Night 3x12 Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: 1-2 years preferred License: South Carolina license or Compact license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: Cardiac and Neuro experience required No first-time travelers accepted Description: This position is for a CVICU RN. The assignment duration is 11 weeks. Shifts are 3x12 hours, overnight from 7 PM to 7 AM. There is a holiday rotation requirement. The nurse to patient ratio is 1:2. Weekends are required every other weekend. Travelers may float within scope to meet facility needs. Prior experience in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit is required. The nurse will need to have experience with cardiac and neuro patient management. Experience in accessing and managing ports, arterial line management, and chest tube insertion/removal is necessary. Familiarity with BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, and ECMO care is expected. Nurses should have knowledge of central line care, CVP monitoring, and interpretation of arterial blood gases. Emergency medications and ventilator management expertise are essential skills. Knowledge of surgical and post-surgical management for cardiac and neuro patients is vital. Flexibility in scheduling is preferred, but accommodations can be requested.
