Registered Nurse (RN) - Behavioral Health

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our behavioral health team. This vital role involves delivering high-quality patient care within a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment, focusing on mental health and behavioral support. The RN will play a leadership role by coordinating care, educating patients and families, and ensuring positive health outcomes while respecting cultural and individual diversity. Pay Package: $25 per hour with weekly stipend of $1,100
Shift: 7pm - 7am

Required Skills

  • Valid RN license in Louisiana or Multistate
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in behavioral health or psychiatric nursing
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Current CPI Certification (within 12 months from the Crisis Prevention Institute)
  • Proficiency in computer systems, software, and web-based applications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to effectively assess patient needs and implement appropriate care strategies

Nice to Have Skills

  • Certification in a clinical specialty area in nursing
  • Additional certifications or training relevant to behavioral health or psychiatric nursing

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing (preferred over a diploma)
  • More than two years of experience specific to behavioral or mental health nursing

Other Requirements

  • Ability to work within physical demands, including exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally
  • Flexibility to work in a healthcare setting with potential exposure to hazardous materials and waste
  • Commitment to maintaining professional standards in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code of Nursing, and Scope & Standards of Practice
