Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Non-Surgical Specialty/Triage Clinic Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN license Certifications: BLS - AHA Must-Have: MN Active RN license BLS Certification Ability to perform blood glucose monitoring Ability to conduct pulmonary function testing, nebulizer treatments, oxygen therapy, spirometry, and peak flow monitoring Ability to perform EKGs Description: The position involves providing clinical oversight in the non-surgical specialty clinics including various specialties. There will typically be one provider and one staff member per clinic. Strong triage and assessment skills are required for backup triage duties. Familiarity with specialty clinic operations in multiple areas is preferred. Patient education is a key responsibility of this role. This position includes mentoring and supporting staff in their clinical roles. Collaboration with clinic leadership to develop and establish workflow standardization is essential. The nurse will help train new staff toward the end of the contract period, requiring strong coaching and teaching skills. The role requires the ability to work independently while partnering with leadership. Clinical duties may include: Conducting pulmonary function testing and managing nebulizer treatments and oxygen therapy. Managing insulin administration and education in endocrinology. Assisting with therapy plans and communication with infusion centers in rheumatology. Monitoring blood pressure, fluid assessment, and patient education on dialysis preparation in nephrology. Providing wound care and navigating therapy plans in infectious disease. Conducting pain assessments and patient education in pain management. Coordinating with neurodiagnostic procedures and providing education in neurology. Familiarity with electronic health record systems, especially in-basket management and triage functions, is required. Knowledge of EKG machines, insulin pump downloads, and telehealth services is beneficial. Weekend shifts and call are not required. The position has a dress code of navy blue scrubs. Specific training and competency processes will be followed for staff development. The cancellation policy allows for a cancellation with appropriate notice period. Ambulatory care setting experience is required. The preferred schedule is Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with potential for a 4-day workweek. Flexibility in working hours may be considered. The position will not require floating to other units or departments.
