Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist Profession: Nuc Med Tech Specialty: Nuclear Medicine Duration: Full Time Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 7am-3:30pm, Monday through Friday with a weekend, holiday, and on-call rotation Experience: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. License: Nuclear Medicine License from the Indiana State Department of Health required. Certifications: Certification with the American Registry of Radiology Technologists or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board required. Must-Have: Basic Life Support certification required. Description: The practice of nuclear medicine technology imaging professionals encompasses multidisciplinary skills, which use rapidly evolving instrumentation, radiopharmaceuticals, and techniques. The responsibilities of the nuclear medicine technologist include, but are not limited to, an empathetic and instructional approach to patient contact, care, and monitoring. Responsibilities also include the procurement, preparation, quality control, dispensing, dose calibration, administration, and disposal of radiopharmaceuticals. The technologist will administer pharmaceuticals including adjunct oral and IV contrast under the direction of an authorized user. Performance of quality control procedures and the operation of imaging, laboratory, and computer instrumentation are also required. This position is scheduled for 40 hours per week and is considered full-time. Compensation is determined through years of directly relevant experience, and does include shift differentials and premium pay as applicable.
