Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist Profession: Technologist Specialty: Nuclear Medicine Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday - Friday Hours per Shift: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM Experience: Minimum 24 months current Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience required License: Active Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification Certifications: Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), BLS (AHA) Must-Have: - Siemens and Spectrum Imaging experience is highly preferred - Thorough working knowledge of nuclear medicine technology and related fields - Ability to administer intramuscular and intravenous injections and start intravenous lines - Proficiency in operating Gamma cameras, including SPECT/CT and PET/CT scanners, nuclear medicine computers, and cardiac stress equipment - Basic knowledge of nuclear medicine therapeutic treatments - Basic knowledge of EKG to perform cardiac studies Description: Perform quality control measures on nuclear medicine equipment and devices. Troubleshoot and maintain equipment ensuring quality management programs for all procedures. Confer with Physicians to determine appropriate procedures for effective operations. Document all operations of the laboratory including the receipt and disposition of radioactive materials. Maintain instrument and procedural quality control data, patient procedures, and medical records. Exercise judgment in the performance of scheduled examinations and procedures to ensure compliance with established guidelines. Identify ways to improve work processes and customer satisfaction. Make recommendations to management and implement changes as needed. Provide clinical instructions for Radiology students and residents to ensure informed health care providers. Stay updated on the latest developments and trends in nuclear medicine. Attend seminars or workshops and read professional journals. Participate in professional organizations and maintain licensure in Nuclear Medicine. Share knowledge with staff members proactively. Maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, physicians, nurses, residents, and patients. Ensure adherence to applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines impacting Nuclear Medicine. Develop effective internal controls to promote compliance with state and federal laws. Seek guidance as necessary for proper understanding of policies.
