Jackson HealthPros is hiring a Clinical / Medical Laboratory Scientist (formerly Medical Technologist) to perform diagnostic testing on patient samples and analyze test results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits to aid physicians in the diagnosis or monitoring of various disease states.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, chemical, physical, or biological science as required by CLIA regulations.
- ASCP, AMT, NCA (MT/MLS) or equivalent certification preferred. Applicants without current certification must pass an accepted registry exam within 6 months of hire. Failure to pass will result in probation and further requirements as described by the client.
- Training: At least 3 months of training in each specialty in which the individual performs high complexity testing. Training may be prior employment, on-site, or as part of an education curriculum.
- Complete operational ability in all laboratory areas, including blood banking, hematology, serology, chemistry, and microscopic/morphological examinations.
- Experience performing high complexity laboratory testing and supervising a department, section, or shift as assigned.
- BLS certification.
- Ability to safely handle chemicals and infectious materials, collect specimens under aseptic conditions, and perform quality control and remedial actions.
- Physical ability to perform job duties, including frequent fine motor tasks and occasional standing, walking, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
- Preferred: At least 1 year of experience as a CLS/MLS/Medical Technologist in a hospital or acute care laboratory setting.
Assignment Details
- Facility Type: Hospital.
- Position: Clinical / Medical Laboratory Scientist (Medical Technologist).
- Shift Name: Evenings.
- Shift Details: Evenings 15:30–23:30 (8-hour shifts) with weekend rotation and holiday coverage.
- Responsibilities include performance of laboratory procedures, monitoring test analysis and specimen examinations, reporting results, and supervising as assigned.
