The Licensed Clinical Social Worker provides comprehensive behavioral health and substance use services in a small hospital-based setting, supporting individuals and families across the continuum of care. This role combines diagnostic assessment, brief therapy, crisis intervention, and care coordination within an interdisciplinary team and community-based network.
Key responsibilitiesProvide screening, psychosocial assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning for clients with mental health and substance use concerns.
Deliver brief therapy, crisis intervention, and ongoing support services using evidence-based modalities appropriate to client needs.
Conduct mental status examinations and apply DSM diagnostic criteria to inform treatment planning and level-of-care decisions.
Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational standards, using Meditech EMR.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, behavioral health providers, and community agencies to coordinate integrated treatment and support services.
Provide ER crisis support and consultation during scheduled work hours when requested by medical staff.
Coordinate discharge planning, referrals, and continuum-of-care services, including linkage to community and tribal resources.
Active Alaska LCSW license at time of submission.
Master s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or closely related behavioral health field from an accredited institution.
Minimum 2 years of post-master s clinical experience in behavioral health or chemical dependency treatment.
Current flu vaccination in accordance with facility policy.
Ability to obtain and maintain ICPA background clearance; fingerprint cards required within one week of offer for work with Indian/Alaska Native children.
Demonstrated skills in diagnostic assessment, crisis intervention, and case management.
Behavioral health and chemical dependency treatment, including co-occurring disorders and integrated care approaches.
Crisis assessment and intervention, including safety planning and coordination with emergency and community resources.
Ethical, culturally sensitive practice with strong awareness of tribal, rural, and community contexts.
Effective interdisciplinary collaboration, documentation, and time-management in a small-hospital environment.
Patient advocacy and care coordination to support access, continuity, and follow-up across systems of care.
Traveler must reside at least 50 miles from the facility.
Housing and travel are not provided by the facility; travelers arrange their own accommodations and transportation.
Position is covered under the Indian Child Protection Act (ICPA) due to work with Native/tribal populations.
