Responsibilities
- Greet patients, verify demographics, insurance information, and appointment details for imaging services; ensure accurate data entry and collect required information (including birthdate and Social as applicable).
- Register patients and pre-register for procedures; update the electronic health record and coordinate with imaging staff to maintain smooth patient flow.
- Verify insurance coverage, assist with preauthorizations when needed, collect co-pays, and explain costs and processes to patients.
- Deliver excellent customer service, respond to patient inquiries, and direct individuals to the appropriate services to minimize wait times.
- Utilize the electronic health record system (Cerner experience a plus) to document encounters, schedule and communicate with care teams, and maintain HIPAA privacy and security.
- Communicate scheduling changes or conflicts to patients and staff, ensuring accurate and timely information.
Requirements
- Prior experience in a medical office or radiology setting is preferred.
- Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with patient registration, data entry, and appointment scheduling.
- Cerner experience is a plus.
- Ability to work in an outpatient imaging center environment with a day shift schedule (Mon–Fri, 8:30 am–5:00 pm).
