Job Title: Medical Technologist Profession: Medical Laboratory Specialty: Medical Laboratory Technician, Medical Technologist Duration: 26 Weeks Shift: Variable - 8 hour shifts, days, evenings, or nights Hours per Shift: 32 Guaranteed Hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of related experience in chemistry, blood bank, hematology, and microbiology or formal student internship. License: Must be board eligible by NCA or ASCP and complete board certification within one year of employment. Certifications: Certification as MT by American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or CLS by National Accrediting Agency (NCA) within one year of employment. Must-Have: Bachelors degree in Medical Technology or a related field required. One to three years of progressively more responsible experience in related fields. Must be capable of working independently and providing direction to Medical Laboratory Assistants. Description: Under the direction of the laboratory manager, the Medical Technologist is responsible for performing laboratory tests and quality control procedures. Effective communication with physicians, nurses, and patients is essential. Candidates must provide a variety of immunization records or titers as per requirements. Documentation needed includes a copy of Photo ID, copy of Social Security card, professional license and/or certification, and educational transcripts where required. All travelers are required to show proof of completed COVID vaccinations. Candidates must pass background checks, a ten-panel drug screen within the last 90 days, and provide three references. Documentation for alias names will also be required.
