Roles & Responsibilities- Room patients efficiently and compassionately, obtaining vital signs and relevant histories
- Prepare charts and document encounters in EPIC to ensure continuity of high-quality care
- Collect specimens, label accurately, and perform point-of-care testing (glucometer, strep, UA)
- Administer immunizations and assist with clinical procedures including sterile setup and biopsies
- Obtain 12-lead EKGs and support exam room prep, positioning, and basic exam tasks
- Coordinate scheduling and follow-up calls to keep patient care seamless and on-track
- Manage in-basket tasks, incoming/outgoing faxing, and administrative abstractions with attention to detail
- Communicate clearly with outside facilities and physicians to support complex geriatric patients
- WA MA-C License required — you must hold current, valid Washington MA-C credentials
- BLS and CMA are preferred certifications; new grads with MA-C are welcome to apply
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills — frequent coordination with outside providers is required
- Strong administrative and scheduling experience is expected; please highlight this in your profile
- Reliable transportation and resolved scheduling limitations prior to start (role requires on-time attendance)
- Comfortable working in an outpatient primary care setting focused on older adult patients
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent training
- Active WA MA-C license required
- High school diploma or GED minimum; MA certification preferred
- Proficiency with patient rooming, taking vitals, and basic clinical assessments
- Experience or familiarity with EPIC charting and EPIC inbasket workflow (preferred)
- Skills in specimen collection and labeling, point-of-care testing, and urine/clean catch handling
- Ability to perform 12-lead EKGs, hearing and vision screening, pulse oximetry, height/weight measurements
- Competence with immunizations (IM), injections, and sterile/aseptic procedure setup
- Strong administrative abilities: scheduling, chart prep, following up on labs, and managing documentation
- Comfortable supporting geriatric patients and working in a team-focused care model
