Job Title: Diagnostic Mammography / Radiology Technologist Profession: Diagnostic Imaging Specialty: CT Technologist, Mammographer Duration: Full-Time Shift: 4/10's - Variable Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum of 5 years of mammography technologist experience License: Active Radiologic Technologist License, Active Mammographic Technologist License, Active Fluoroscopic Radiologic Technologist License Certifications: American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification, California Venipuncture Certificate (required within 3 months of hire) Description: An experienced Diagnostic Mammography / Radiology Technologist is sought to join the Diagnostic Imaging team. This role is responsible for performing high-quality screening and diagnostic mammography procedures. The position involves delivering compassionate, patient-centered care across all age groups. The technologist will collaborate closely with radiologists and other imaging professionals to ensure accurate imaging. Efficiency in workflow and an exceptional patient experience are core components of the role. Key Responsibilities: Perform screening and diagnostic mammography procedures in accordance with established protocols. Ensure proper positioning, image quality, and adherence to radiation safety principles. Review physician orders and coordinate imaging exams with radiologists and other modalities. Track and retrieve prior mammography images for comparison and interpretation. Provide patient education on breast health and self-examination. Serve as a technical resource for breast imaging, quality control, and equipment operation. Advocate for patients by coordinating care to minimize inconvenience and delays. Participate in departmental committees and assist with outreach and mammography service promotion. Support Bone Density exams and assist with other imaging procedures as needed. Take call as assigned and perform other duties as required. Physical & Work Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for 4 to 6 hours per day. Ability to bend, reach, crouch, balance, and push equipment as needed. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds. Exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, and chemical agents.
