Job Title: Acute Care Social Worker Profession: Behavioral Health Specialty: Social Worker-Clinical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days, Monday to Friday Hours per Shift: 32 Experience: Minimum 1 year in hospital or health-care setting License: State of Alaska license at Master's level (LMSW) required Certifications: Valid Alaska State driver's license required Must-Have: - MSW (Master of Social Work) from an accredited school of Social Work - Basic knowledge of computer use - Ability to read, comprehend, and write at the college level - Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations - Mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure - Supervisory skills to perform tasks when supervisor is away - Ability to work independently and in collaboration with other social workers - Prefer experience working in a cross-cultural setting with bilingual language skills in English and Yup'ik Description: Position Summary: Uses a holistic approach in the provision of medical social services to patients and their families. Assists in solving or ameliorating physical, social, emotional, and/or environmental problems. Aims to prevent patients from attaining or retaining optimum health. Social services are provided to people of all ages, from intra-uterine through elderly.
