Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist Profession: IR Technologist Specialty: Cardiac Services Tech Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, ARRT, BLS Certification Must-Have: Graduate from an approved school of radiologic technology. Two years of experience in diagnostic and/or interventional cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology lab. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist or exam eligible at time of hire. BLS, ACLS certification. Demonstrated clinical competence in basic cardiac physiology/pathology. 12-Lead EKG interpretation knowledge. Physiologic monitoring knowledge, including intra-cardiac pressure waveform. Pacemaker operations knowledge (implantable and external). Familiarity with radiographic equipment related to cardiac care. Description: Provide technical support and assistance to the physician during diagnostic and invasive cardiovascular and interventional radiology procedures. Perform scrub and hemodynamic monitoring duties with cardiac catheterizations, vascular, and interventional radiology procedures. Utilize clinical knowledge, technical skills, and professional judgment in accordance with professional and departmental standards and protocols. Assist in the care assessment prior to, during, and post-procedural care and instruction to patients. Prepare and maintain all pertinent information related to procedures. Participation in call is required, with potential for weekend shifts as determined by staffing needs. The department is a new service line. Regular and supplemental staff will complete orientation on the first day onsite. This position requires adherence to departmental policies and standards.
