Job Description:

The Surgical Technologist supports the care of surgical patients during the perioperative phase of care.

Responsibilities:

• Organizes, prepares, and safely handles equipment and supplies for surgical procedures.
• Utilizes surgeon preference cards.
• Assists with the provision and reinforcement of patient education according to the plan of care.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program preferred (willing to train the right candidate).
• Previous experience as a surgical technologist preferred.
• Previous experience with instrumentation required.
• Previous hospital experience strongly preferred.
• Must obtain BLS within 60 days of hire and must maintain certification throughout employment.
• If graduate of a surgical technologist program, must be certified by the ASA as a CST or complete certification within 3 months of hire and must maintain credential throughout employment.
