Travel Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - $1,584 to $1,728 per week in State College, PA

Pay Rate: $44.00 - $48.00/Hourly.

Summary:  The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) assists surgeons, registered nurses, and other surgical team members during operative procedures. The CST is responsible for maintaining a sterile field, preparing surgical instruments and supplies, and ensuring safe, efficient support before, during, and after surgery.

Responsibilities:

• Applies knowledge of the basic concepts necessary for the performance of the duties expected of the surgical technician.
• Identifies medications and solutions by name, dosage, and expiration date with a registered nurse.
• Applies the principles of asepsis and sterile technique in a knowledgeable manner to provide optimal patient care.
• Performs gowning, gloving and surgical scrubbing according to medical center policy.
• Assists with the care, preparation and maintenance of sterile and unsterile supplies.
• Assists with skin preparation and draping of patient.
• Understands the services provided to the patient in relation to their restoration of health.
• Prepares and possesses knowledge of the specific uses of all equipment and supplies used for surgical procedures.
