Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Sunday-Saturday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Day shift)

Hours per Week: 35

Candidate Pay Rate: $42 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Assist licensed occupational therapists in delivering goal-driven therapy interventions
  • Implement treatment plans and carry out therapeutic activities that improve daily living skills
  • Monitor and document patient progress accurately and communicate changes to the care team
  • Educate patients and families on adaptive strategies and safe use of assistive devices
  • Collaborate closely with nurses, PTs, SLPs, and physicians to ensure coordinated care
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment, including equipment checks and infection control
  • Contribute to discharge planning and recommendations to promote successful transitions
Qualifications
  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required
  • Current or compact-eligible Maryland state licensure or ability to obtain licensure
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification required or obtained upon hire
  • Clinical experience as a COTA preferred; strong hands-on patient care skills
  • Ability to work a consistent day shift schedule and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team
Education
  • Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant or related field (required)
Knowledge & Skills
  • Skilled in therapeutic activity planning and ADL retraining
  • Strong documentation and clinical reasoning skills
  • Knowledge of adaptive equipment and assistive technology
  • Excellent patient and family education and communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced rehabilitation environment
  • Team-oriented mindset with good time management and organizational skills
