Roles & Responsibilities
  • Provide compassionate occupational therapy assistance to help patients regain independence in daily activities
  • Implement individualized treatment plans under the supervision of an OTR, focusing on ADLs and adaptive strategies
  • Monitor patient progress and document outcomes clearly and timely
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
  • Educate patients and families on therapeutic techniques and home programs to support recovery
  • Maintain a safe treatment environment and follow facility policies and infection control procedures
Qualifications
  • Current COTA (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant) credential
  • Completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Clinical experience working with adults or geriatric populations preferred
  • Strong documentation skills and familiarity with common OT outcome measures
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills; patient-focused attitude
  • Ability to meet credentialing and onboarding requirements for the facility
Education
  • Associate degree or completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
Knowledge & Skills
  • Knowledge of ADL training, therapeutic activities, and assistive devices
  • Skill in implementing treatment plans and adapting approaches to individual needs
  • Familiarity with patient safety, fall prevention, and mobility assistance techniques
  • Competence in clinical documentation and outcome tracking
  • Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary rehab team
