Roles & Responsibilities
  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered occupational therapy interventions under the direction of the supervising therapist
  • Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans to improve patients' independence with activities of daily living
  • Document patient progress, responses to treatment, and discharge planning clearly and timely in the record
  • Educate and train patients and families on adaptive techniques, energy conservation, and home safety
  • Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate high-quality care
  • Support restorative programs and assist with adaptive equipment recommendations and setup
  • Maintain treatment areas, therapy equipment, and follow infection control and safety protocols
Qualifications
  • Current COTA credential (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant) required
  • State licensure or eligibility to practice as a COTA in Wisconsin
  • Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification as required by facility policy
  • Comfort working in a rehabilitation/skilled nursing setting with adults and older adults
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team
  • Available for the assignment period: 2026-02-16 through 2026-05-18
Education
  • Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
  • Skilled in activity analysis and adaptive techniques for ADLs
  • Knowledge of therapeutic modalities, splinting basics, and mobility aids
  • Proficient documentation skills and familiarity with electronic health records
  • Ability to assess functional status and contribute to measurable goals
  • Strong patient education, time management, and teamwork abilities
