Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant - Pediatric – UHC Staffing Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant - Pediatric

Location: Mount Olive, NC

Contract Type: Perm

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Day (35 hours/week, no weekend rotation)

Hours per Week: 35

Candidate Pay Rate: $27 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Provide hands-on pediatric occupational therapy support under the guidance of the supervising OTR
  • Deliver individualized treatment activities that help kids build strength, coordination, and independence
  • Document patient progress clearly and timely to support excellent continuity of care
  • Collaborate with therapists, nurses, teachers, and families to create meaningful care plans
  • Coach families and caregivers on carryover strategies to maximize gains outside of therapy sessions
  • Maintain a safe, organized therapy environment and ensure equipment is clean and functional
Qualifications
  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required
  • P-OTA classification / pediatric OTA experience (as indicated by the role)
  • Comfort and experience working with pediatric populations preferred
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to partner effectively with families and the care team
  • Ability to complete required facility onboarding and any state-required documentation
Education
  • Completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program (associate degree or equivalent)
Knowledge & Skills
  • Practical pediatric therapy techniques and activity-based interventions
  • Skilled in documentation, treatment planning, and progress tracking
  • Patient- and family-centered approach with strong coaching skills
  • Ability to adapt activities to meet developmental and functional goals
  • Familiarity with safe equipment use and basic maintenance
