Join a hospital-based cardiac catheterization team in Omaha, NE as a Cath Lab Technologist (Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) and play a vital role assisting physicians and Cath Lab personnel with diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures.
What You'll Do
- Scrub and assist the physician during diagnostic and interventional cases including left heart catheterizations, stent placement, ICD and pacemaker procedures.
- Operate and troubleshoot cath lab imaging and monitoring systems such as Siemens cath systems, Philips IVUS, Sensis, Apollo, and Phillips monitors.
- Perform procedural monitoring, documentation and case-related charting in EPIC.
- Participate in department call rotation covering multiple campuses as required.
- Follow hospital infection control, fingernail, and dress code policies while providing patient care.
Minimum Requirements
- BLS certification (AHA) required.
- ARRT or RCIS registration required. Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) via CCI required.
- Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab experience. Experience performing left heart caths, stent placement, and device cases (ICD, pacemaker) required.
- Experience with EPIC charting system and Siemens cath/monitoring equipment preferred.
- Ability to meet call response time requirements (30 minutes) and to float to other hospital campuses within the system as needed.
- Valid driver's license required at submittal to verify radius rule compliance (50 mile radius restriction). Candidates may not be employed as FT/PT/PRN with facilities associated with the system.
- Orientation: approximately 12 hours department-specific orientation; traveler will be oriented to each campus (1–3 days per campus).
- Preferred: prior travel experience. Preferred but not required: 2 years' Cath Lab hospital experience.
Assignment Details
- Facility type: Hospital.
- Shift: Days. Typical scheduled hours 07:30–16:00.
- Shift structure: 5x8 day schedule with additional call responsibilities (8 hour day shifts plus call).
- Call requirements: 1–2 weeknights per week, 1 weekend per month, rotating holidays. Call covers multiple campuses with a 30-minute response expectation.
- Floating: Yes. Candidate will float as needed to other campuses within the hospital system.
- Orientation hours: 12.

- Patient population: adult inpatient and outpatient; common diagnoses include CAD and AMI.

- Fingernail policy: artificial nails prohibited in patient care areas; refusal to comply may result in contract termination.
- Cancellation policy: hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts for a 13-week assignment; fewer cancellations for shorter assignments.
