Position Summary
The School-Based Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) provides behavioral assessment, consultation, and intervention services to support students with behavioral, emotional, and developmental needs. The BCBA collaborates with administrators, teachers, related service providers, and families to develop and implement evidence-based behavior intervention plans that promote student success in the educational environment. Key Responsibilities
Assessment & Program Development
- Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and analyze data to identify target behaviors and underlying functions.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) aligned with student IEP goals.
- Design individualized behavior support programs using evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles.
- Collect, graph, and analyze behavioral data to guide decision-making and adjust interventions as needed.
- Provide consultation and coaching to teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers on behavior management strategies.
- Participate in IEP, eligibility, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Collaborate with families to ensure consistency between school and home environments.
- Support district-wide positive behavior support initiatives and MTSS/RTI frameworks.
- Provide training to staff on behavior strategies, data collection methods, crisis prevention, and de-escalation techniques.
- Model effective implementation of behavior intervention strategies in classroom settings.
- Ensure fidelity of behavior plan implementation.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with district, state, and federal regulations.
- Ensure compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and other applicable laws and regulations.
- Adhere to the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) Professional and Ethical Compliance Code.
- Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Education, Psychology, or related field.
- Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification required.
- Valid state licensure (if applicable).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children and/or adolescents in a school or clinical setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of ABA principles, behavior assessment tools, and data analysis.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to move between classrooms and school sites as needed.
- Ability to assist in implementing crisis intervention procedures, including physical management techniques when required and trained.
- School-based setting serving students with diverse academic, behavioral, and developmental needs.
- May support multiple grade levels and programs within the district.
