Job description:
  • Title: Certified Anesthesia Technician – Travel

  • Location: Santa Fe, NM

  • Shift: MIDS (12:00 PM – 8:30 PM)

  • Hours per week: 40
  • Duration: 13 weeks with possible extension

  • Schedule: No weekends, no on-call, no floating, blocked scheduling not accommodated

Overview:

The Certified Anesthesia Technician provides comprehensive support to anesthesia providers in the operating room and other clinical areas. This role ensures safe and efficient patient care by managing anesthesia equipment, supplies, and assisting with procedures before, during, and after surgery. The technician must demonstrate strong technical knowledge, sterile technique, and the ability to respond quickly in high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and set up anesthesia equipment (ventilators, monitors, infusion pumps).

  • Assemble and test anesthesia machines for leaks and proper function.

  • Support anesthesiologists, CRNAs, and CAAs with patient positioning and airway management.

  • Assist with intubation/extubation procedures and prepare airway devices.

  • Clean, disinfect, and restock anesthesia equipment per hospital protocols.

  • Assist with patient recovery and transfer.

  • Provide immediate support during emergencies (cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, difficult airway).

  • Supply crash carts, defibrillators, and airway devices promptly.

  • Operate and troubleshoot anesthesia gas machines and monitoring systems (EKG, BP, SPO2, CO2).
Qualifications
  • Certification as an Anesthesia Technician (required)

  • BLS/ACLS via AHA (preferred)

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in anesthesia support

  • Strong knowledge of anesthesia equipment, sterile techniques, and troubleshooting

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
