About the Role:
We are seeking a hands-on Transportation Shop Managerto lead our vehicle maintenance and repair operations. This role is ideal for a strong leader with mechanical experience, financial acumen, and a passion for managing high-performing teams in a fast-paced transportation environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full management of the shop:Ensure smooth daily operations, adherence to safety standards, and efficient workflow.
- Budget oversight:Develop and manage the shop budget, including pricing, invoices, and cost controls.
- Over-the-road repair for diesels and supervision.
- Oversee and validate all external repairs, ensuring reasonableness and quality.
- Team leadership:Supervise a team of 6–8 mechanics and 2 clerical staff.
- Providing coaching, performance management, and professional development.
- Maintain compliance with all transportation and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience managing a transportation or heavy-duty repair shop.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of trucks and fleet vehicles.
- Experience overseeing budgets, invoicing, and vendor relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
