Transportation Engineer

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Job Description:
We are seeking a Transportation Engineer to join our Indianapolis-based team and support the planning, design, and delivery of transportation infrastructure projects. This role involves roadway and highway design, coordination with public agencies, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform engineering design for roadway, highway, and transportation projects

  • Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates (PS&E)

  • Conduct geometric design, alignments, profiles, and cross-sections

  • Develop traffic control plans and support traffic analysis efforts

  • Coordinate with INDOT, local municipalities, and project stakeholders

  • Support projects through design development, permitting, and construction

  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local standards (AASHTO, INDOT, MUTCD)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering

  • Experience in transportation or roadway engineering

  • Proficiency with MicroStation and/or OpenRoads (AutoCAD/Civil 3D a plus)

  • Knowledge of INDOT standards, AASHTO guidelines, and MUTCD

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • EIT certification; PE licensure or ability to obtain preferred

  • Experience with highway, arterial, and local roadway projects

  • Familiarity with traffic analysis and transportation modeling tools
