Job Summary

The Transactional Accounting General Accountant is responsible for executing the overall transactional accounting strategy within the country of the Group of companies. This role ensures timely, accurate, and relevant financial statements for a multi-billion-dollar U.S. operation.
As a business partner within Finance, the position reconciles accounts, applies accounting principles and procedures, supports financial close processes, and ensures compliance with internal and external accounting standards, including US GAAP.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and perform transactional accounting operations and financial close processes
  • Prepare month-end reconciliations of transactional accounting and related balance sheet accounts
  • Execute specialized transactional accounting procedures and support adoption of accounting pronouncements
  • Provide financial guidance to management and operations
  • Identify and implement process improvements to create value-added efficiencies
  • Assist with annual audits, including review and follow-up on findings
  • Prepare and review governmental external reporting (monthly, quarterly, annually)
  • Support global accounting function in development and adaptation of common accounting rules
  • Implement, monitor, and maintain internal control processes across transactional accounting
  • Develop working relationships across finance, tax, and legal teams
  • Contribute to a culture that embraces diversity and inclusion
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Degree in Accounting preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years of accounting experience
  • Growing depth of US GAAP knowledge and experience
  • Experience implementing transactional accounting governance and compliance strategy
  • Demonstrated decision-making and ownership in fast-paced environments
  • Experience working with executive leadership on corporate-wide issues

Nice-to-Have Experience

  • Master’s Degree in Accounting
  • CPA Certification
  • Experience in multinational corporate environments
  • Experience in large multi-state or multinational organizations
