  • Maintain a structured repository of environment and inventory artifacts.

Architecture & Dependency Mapping
  • Create architecture diagrams (logical, physical, and data flow as appropriate).
  • Develop dependency and lineage diagrams to illustrate system interactions and risks.
  • Ensure diagrams are accurate, consistent, and consumable by both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Stakeholder Interviews & Knowledge Capture
  • Conduct structured interviews with technical and business SMEs.
  • Capture interview notes and synthesize them into clear summaries and findings.
  • Identify gaps, risks, pain points, and opportunities surfaced during interviews.

Artifact Development
  • Create supporting artifacts such as:
  • Process flows and swim lane diagrams
  • Data flow and integration maps
  • Inventory spreadsheets and catalogs
  • Glossaries, assumptions, and constraint logs
  • Maintain versioned, well-organized documentation suitable for handoff.

Assessment & Roadmap Deliverables
  • Support preparation of assessment deliverables, including:
  • Current-state findings summary
  • Risk and dependency analysis
  • Recommendations and options
  • Phased delivery roadmap with sequencing considerations
  • Contribute to executive-ready slide decks and written reports.
  • Produce executive ready documentation including current state findings, future state architecture, and a migration + modernization roadmap.

Skills & Expertise
  • 5+ years of experience in business analysis, process analysis, or technical documentation roles (consulting experience preferred).
  • Strong experience documenting data environments, systems, or application landscapes.
  • Proven ability to create clear architecture and dependency diagrams (e.g., Lucid, Visio, Miro, Draw.io).
  • Excellent interview, listening, and synthesis skills.
  • Strong written communication with attention to structure and clarity.
  • Experience working in short, milestone-driven consulting engagements.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and incomplete documentation.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting data modernization, platform assessments, or system rationalization efforts.
  • Familiarity with data architecture concepts (ETL/ELT, data warehouses, data lakes, APIs, batch vs streaming).
  • Experience creating training or knowledge-transfer materials from assessment outputs.
  • Ability to translate technical findings into business-relevant language.
