Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Training and Development Assistant to join our team. As part of the Human Resources team, this role works closely with the Training & Development Specialist and site managers to reinforce training standards and support quality services.
Duties
- Assist with training sessions and on boarding of new staff.
- Provide follow-up coaching and reinforce job skills
- Pair new employees with qualified, experienced mentors.
- Conduct site observations and complete required documentation.
- Perform medication box checks and review MARs for accurancy
- Help coordinate shift coverage and contact staff to fill open shifts.
- Track training completion and report compliance concerns.
- Support the implementation of the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate) instructional design model to create effective learning experiences.
- Coordinate employee orientation sessions and onboarding programs to ensure new hires are well-equipped from day one.
- Manage Learning Management System (LMS) platforms such as Workday or Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) to track training progress and maintain accurate records.
- Facilitate training delivery through classroom sessions, virtual webinars, and e-learning modules while utilizing strong public speaking and presentation skills.
- Collect data on training effectiveness through employee evaluations and feedback surveys to continuously improve program quality.
- Collaborate with HR teams on talent management initiatives like succession planning, performance management, and mentoring programs.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in HCBS Residential or Human Services.
- Previous experience of staff training processes and compliance requirements.
- Experience with medication documentation practices (required).
- Experience in staff training, program oversight, and management roles.
- Proficiency in LMS platforms, Microsoft Office, and documentation systems.
- Strong communication, organizational, and regulatory knowledge skills.
- Maintain a valid Iowa Driver's License with a good driving record, and a private automobile used to carry out job duties. Hold adequate liability insurance (required: $100,000/$300,000/$50,000).
