GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Under the direction of the Regional Supervisor, this position performs wildlife, conservation, and natural resources enforcement work. Work involves supervising law enforcement staff and programs, conducting analyses of law enforcement programs and activities, conducting emergency management and homeland security operations, and monitoring wildlife and conservation activities in an assigned district. Supervises the work of others. Works under minimal supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Law Enforcement Duties:
Conducts and/or coordinates law enforcement patrols within the assigned district. Coordinates, in conjunction with internal/interagency staff, saturation patrols, joint law enforcement initiatives, search and rescue operations, and other public safety/enforcement related activities. Supervises, coordinates and monitors emergency management operations in an assigned district during disasters and emergency situations. Identifies staff training needs and develops, presents and/or coordinates training courses to ensure compliance by personnel with law enforcement officer training and certification requirements. Develops, implements, evaluates and/or supervises special programs, special operations, special investigations or other special assignments in an assigned District. Monitor/coordinate district physical readiness requirement compliance. Maintains knowledge of all relevant statutes, administrative codes, agency and division directives/policies, etc. Confers with local law enforcement, court officers, and state officials concerning department activities. Oversees, conducts, and monitors criminal and administrative investigations.
