Job Details
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain manual milling, drilling, tapping, and surface grinding machines to tolerances as tight as ±0.0002”.
Assemble, fit, and align progressive dies, ensuring proper function and precision.
Perform die troubleshooting, adjustments, and maintenance as needed.
Learn to run the dies after assembly and support production operations to verify tool performance.
Work with extremely thin materials (as fine as .002”) and small-scale components in a high-precision, low-volume environment.
Maintain quality and accuracy standards for long-life tools, with some dies exceeding 60 million parts produced with no end of life in sight.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in manual machining and die assembly.
Strong mechanical aptitude with an excellent touch and feel for precision assembly.
Ability to hold very tight tolerances and inspect work accurately.
Familiarity with progressive die operation and design principles.
Willingness to learn die operation and participate in continuous improvement of tool performance.
