The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and engineer manufacturing tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Optimize existing tooling for performance, efficiency, and extended lifespan.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve tooling-related production issues and failures.
  • Manage and maintain tooling inventory, repair, and preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Collaborate with production and design teams to define and implement tooling requirements.
  • Implement new tooling technologies and materials to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure all tooling adheres to quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proven experience in tooling design, development, and manufacturing (e.g., molds, dies, jigs, fixtures).
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, Mastercam).
  • Strong understanding of material science, including metals, plastics, and composites.
  • In-depth knowledge of various manufacturing processes such as machining, injection molding, stamping, and assembly.
  • Ability to apply GD&T principles for design, inspection, and quality control.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with mold flow or finite element analysis (FEA) simulation software.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or demonstrated experience with continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in a programming language (e.g., Python, VBA) for automation, data analysis, or CAD customization.
  • Familiarity with additive manufacturing processes for tooling components or rapid prototyping.
