Salary Range: $75,000 - $114,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity
We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Rockford that are seeking skilled Tooling Engineers. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and validate new tooling, molds, jigs, and fixtures for manufacturing processes.
- Perform maintenance, repair, and modification of existing production tooling to ensure operational readiness.
- Analyze and troubleshoot tooling-related production issues, implementing effective corrective and preventative actions.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and design teams to optimize tool performance, lifespan, and efficiency.
- Specify, procure, and manage external tooling vendors and suppliers, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive tooling documentation, specifications, and maintenance schedules.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives for tooling processes, materials, and designs to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
- 3-5 years of experience in tooling design, manufacturing, or maintenance.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Mastercam) for tool design and analysis.
- Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes such as machining, stamping, injection molding, or casting.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot tooling issues, optimize performance, and implement improvements.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with advanced simulation software (e.g., FEA, mold flow analysis).
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
- Familiarity with robotics and automation integration for tooling.
- Project management experience specific to tooling development.
- Knowledge of additive manufacturing applications for tooling.
