Key Responsibilities

• Design, construct, and repair precision tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and molds.
• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to plan machining operations.
• Operate precision machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and EDM machines.
• Perform precise measurements and calculations to ensure accuracy and tolerances.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with tooling and machinery, implementing corrective actions.
• Maintain and sharpen tools and dies to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Collaborate with engineers and production staff to resolve tooling issues and improve processes.
• Fabricate components from various metals and materials according to specifications.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Journeyman Tool and Die Maker certification preferred.
• Proven experience in operating and maintaining CNC machining centers, lathes, mills, and grinders.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Strong understanding of metallurgy, heat treatment processes, and material properties.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills related to tooling and die fabrication.
• Experience with precision measuring instruments and techniques (e.g., micrometers, calipers, CMM).

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CNC programming and operation for tool and die applications.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for design and machining.
• Knowledge of various heat-treating processes for tool steels.
• Experience with EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) operations.
• Familiarity with metrology equipment and techniques for precise measurement.
