The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
- Design, construct, and repair precision tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and molds.
- Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to plan machining operations.
- Operate precision machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and EDM machines.
- Perform precise measurements and calculations to ensure accuracy and tolerances.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with tooling and machinery, implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain and sharpen tools and dies to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Collaborate with engineers and production staff to resolve tooling issues and improve processes.
- Fabricate components from various metals and materials according to specifications.
Recommended Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Journeyman Tool and Die Maker certification preferred.
- Proven experience in operating and maintaining CNC machining centers, lathes, mills, and grinders.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Strong understanding of metallurgy, heat treatment processes, and material properties.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills related to tooling and die fabrication.
- Experience with precision measuring instruments and techniques (e.g., micrometers, calipers, CMM).
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with CNC programming and operation for tool and die applications.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for design and machining.
- Knowledge of various heat-treating processes for tool steels.
- Experience with EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) operations.
- Familiarity with metrology equipment and techniques for precise measurement.
