The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
- Design, fabricate, and repair complex tooling, dies, jigs, and fixtures used in manufacturing processes.
- Interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and specifications to create precise tooling components.
- Operate and maintain a variety of machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC equipment.
- Perform precision machining operations such as turning, milling, grinding, and EDM to achieve tight tolerances.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with tooling and dies, implementing effective repair solutions.
- Conduct quality control inspections on fabricated parts and assemblies to ensure adherence to specifications.
- Collaborate with engineers and production staff to optimize tooling design and manufacturing processes.
- Maintain accurate records of tooling production, repairs, and maintenance activities.
Recommended Qualifications
- - Journeyman Tool and Die Maker certification or equivalent experience.
- - Proficiency in operating manual and CNC machining equipment (mills, lathes, grinders).
- - Experience with CAD/CAM software for tool design and programming.
- - Strong understanding of metallurgy, heat treatment, and material properties.
- - Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- - Skilled in precision measurement techniques and the use of precision measuring instruments.
Bonus Qualifications
- - Experience with CNC machining and programming
- - Familiarity with CAD/CAM software
- - Knowledge of heat treating processes
- - Experience in mold making or plastic injection molding
