Key Responsibilities

• Design, fabricate, and repair complex tooling, dies, jigs, and fixtures used in manufacturing processes.
• Interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and specifications to create precise tooling components.
• Operate and maintain a variety of machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC equipment.
• Perform precision machining operations such as turning, milling, grinding, and EDM to achieve tight tolerances.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with tooling and dies, implementing effective repair solutions.
• Conduct quality control inspections on fabricated parts and assemblies to ensure adherence to specifications.
• Collaborate with engineers and production staff to optimize tooling design and manufacturing processes.
• Maintain accurate records of tooling production, repairs, and maintenance activities.

Recommended Qualifications

• - Journeyman Tool and Die Maker certification or equivalent experience.
• - Proficiency in operating manual and CNC machining equipment (mills, lathes, grinders).
• - Experience with CAD/CAM software for tool design and programming.
• - Strong understanding of metallurgy, heat treatment, and material properties.
• - Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• - Skilled in precision measurement techniques and the use of precision measuring instruments.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with CNC machining and programming
• - Familiarity with CAD/CAM software
• - Knowledge of heat treating processes
• - Experience in mold making or plastic injection molding
