Job Title: Title Examiner

Job Summary

  • Responsible for researching, reviewing, and analyzing real estate records to determine legal ownership

  • Identify issues that may affect property titles

  • Ensure title documents are accurate, clear, and compliant with applicable laws

  • Support smooth and timely real estate transactions

Responsibilities

  • Examine public records, deeds, mortgages, liens, judgments, and maps to verify property ownership

  • Identify restrictions, easements, encumbrances, and title defects

  • Prepare detailed title reports and summaries for real estate closings

  • Work with title officers, attorneys, lenders, and other stakeholders to resolve title issues

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations

  • Maintain accurate and organized documentation of title research

  • Communicate findings and status updates clearly with internal teams and clients

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience at a title insurance company

  • Experience in title examination, title research, or related real estate field preferred

  • Strong knowledge of property law, real estate transactions, and legal terminology

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills

  • Proficiency with title software systems and public record databases

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
